See You On The Dark Side Of The Moon

Two words: Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd.

Pink. Floyd.

Pink. Motherfucking. Floyd.

There is not, nor has there ever been, a greater band in the history of the planet. It is my favorite, my bestie Jessica's favorite, and it is all around awesome.

Pink Floyd is a British band that- ya know what? I'm not even gonna explain it. Google it or something, just listen to their songs. My favorite album is either Dark Side of the Moon or Wish You Were Here, with The Division Bell close behind. I just LOVE IT. I was packing my bags to go back to my Dad's house, and I put on Dark Side of the Moon. By the time "Money" started playing I was laying on the floor completely out of it, just listening to the music. It was incredible. I urge you to listen to some of their albums, so I'll put links below. For the record, Pink Floyd is kinds known for beginning their music incredibly quietly. Give it time, and don't turn up your speakers too loud. I recommend clicking somewhere in the middle of the album and listening so you can hear how loud it will be.

Dark Side of the Moon (Starts very quietly)
Wish You Were Here (Starts somewhat quietly, quickly gets louder)
The Division Bell (Starts silent and fades in)
The Wall (Starts very quietly, then suddenly gets loud)

They. Are. Legend.

I'm learning how to play the song "Wish You Were Here" (guess which album that's from?) on guitar and its awesome. I also like The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett. He went crazy. But was awesome all the same. It's a fun album, I listen to it while I'm cooking (psst: my favorite song on there is "Octopus", so listen to that one definitely, hint hint) and I love it. So yes, look up Pink Floyd. I even drew this on Minecraft:

I like it. It took me a while 'cus it kept snowing while I was working on it and it kept covering the whole thing in white. So I guess this concludes the post.

May the Floyd be with you, and see you on the dark side of the moon!

The Hardest Day of Filming

UPDATE: I spent ages trying to export the video to the right format, and when YouTube finally accepted it it the audio shifted and didn't sync up with the video anymore. Now it's weird and I don't care. I've had complaints that videos I post on my blog don't play, so I'm gonna work with it and post the video here later and see if it works.

Sup coolkids?

Today I had to film a video I've been busy thinking about for well over two months. Natty slept over and decided it was a good idea to film, so I spent the better part of two hours dancing in front of a camera. It took two hours of messing with wigs and horns and painting myself gray, but it's gonna look epic when I'm done. I'm trying to resist the urge to type like I do on Pesterchum right now, it's hilarious.

Anyway, the video may be up soon. It was UNBELIEVABLE how much work went into the costume. I've been planning it since late May or early June, but whatever. I'm lazy, I know. The gray makeup was the hardest part, considering it had to be wet to work with and I didn't want to turn the faucet (or my shirts) the color of my alien skin. But it worked, so woohoo. I've included pictures.

CG: THIS VIDEO IS GOING TO SUCK.
CG: TEREZI WAS BEING ANNOYING (NOT THAT SHE ISN'T ON A DAILY BASIS) AND MADE FILMING DIFFICULT.
CG: ROSE KEPT ANALYZING EVERYTHING IN THE MOST IRRITATING WAY POSSIBLE.
CG: AND STRIDER ISN'T AS COOL AS HE THINKS HE IS.

GC: K4RK4T W4S B31NG D1FF1CULT SO 1 TOOK 1T UPON MYS3LF TO 4NNOY H1M.
GC: 1T W4S FUN TO H4NG OUT W1TH ROS3 THOUGH.

TT: Karkat and Terezi have some deep rooted issues. It wasn't easy to work with them, but I think if I get another chance I can work with them and get them to open up about their feelings.
TT: It was still fun to make the video though, despite Karkat's... attitude, but Terezi was a lot of fun to be around.

TG: karkat doesnt know what hes talking about because my beats are fucking epic
TG: terezi was cool and rose was all over the place with the psychology shit but it was okay i guess
TG: i needed a bigger part in this video though.

This was definitely the most fun video I've ever filmed. Never mind the fact that it took what felt like forever to shoot, if this video gets at all popular I'm gonna make this a series.

UPDATE #2: It didn't work. I'll work at it.

Hey There, Would You Like To Talk About Homestuck?

Of course you would. Who wouldn't?

For those of you who don't know, Homestuck is a webcomic drawn by Andrew Hussie. It is essentially about four 13 year old kids (John, Rose, Dave, and Jade) who play a game called Sburb. The whole system is very complex, but basically these kids spend several years playing this game and somehow don't ever go to school and somehow still expect to succeed after the game session ends. There's a bazillion plot lines and characters, but let me make it simple:

1. Four kids (called the Beta kids) start playing a game.

2. They communicate through a social network called Pesterchum. I have the Mac download of this and my Chumhandle is effervescingOcelot. Download and Pester! Someone needs to make an iPhone app for this...

Getting off topic.

3. Also on Pesterchum are the Trolls.

4. The Trolls are aliens that have horns and gray skin but act as internet trolls, typing mean things to bother the Beta kids because they think it's entertaining (the Trolls are playing their own session of the game as well)

5. The Beta kids reach God Tier (highest level) and the Trolls end up helping them along in the game.

6. The Beta kids cause the Scratch, which is, according to MSPA Wiki, "a mechanism by which a session, and the universe tied to it, can be reset to an indeterminate point in the past. The process releases a great deal of temporal energy, and the universe will then redevelop differently and eventually produce new Sburb sessions possibly very different from the one in which the Scratch was initiated. It is a last resort for a session doomed to failure, with the intention being to attempt to restart with more favorable conditions", as well as somehow making Jade and John siblings and Rose and Dave siblings (I don't get the relevance really, but hey, web comics, right?).

7. Skip either back or forward about one generation (that's the one thing that really confuses me).

8. The Beta kids' parents/grandparents or descendants are 15 (I don't really understand all the time jumps and stuff, just bear with me on this) and they play their own session either before the Beta kids are born or after they completed their session. These kids are called the Alpha kids.

9. Through dream selves (each player gets a version of him/her self to play as when they sleep) and time jumps and portals and things like that, the Alpha kids meet the Beta kids and the Trolls meet their ancestors (Troll equivalent to the Alpha kids).

10. Stuff happens and BOOM! Now an alien called Caliborn is getting stronger and deciding to try and win his game session on his own (a near impossible thing to do), later becoming Lord English, the Trolls' and both the Alpha and Beta kids' Big Bad.

Here, I even wrote a song that explains it perfectly:

You'll have to read it yourself to judge it, but here's some funny pictures to get you excited about it:

It does start off slow, but it gets REALLY good. But only read it if you have copious amounts of free time. Otherwise you're just gonna torture yourself.

An LCICS Donation

If you've been reading my blog, you know that last Christmas I donated about $800 to Lake County International Charter School. It's a small school that I attended and it makes me happy to donate to them. Well this summer Natalie and I held a bake sale for the school, and we will be donating about $100 to the school. I really don't feel like writing a lot right now, so instead I'll just direct you to their website so you can donate as well. Please donate, and all that do are great people!

Oh, and a shout out to the lady that wouldn't buy any cookies or anything because it's not a Christian school. WAIT TO GO, LADY. REFUSING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EDUCATION OF THIS GENERATION. AWESOME. TELL ME AGAIN HOW MANY SCIENTISTS AND MATHEMATICIANS COME OUT OF YOUR CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS ON A YEARLY BASIS? THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT.

Anyway, donate to the school because they really deserve it. I had a great experience there and I don't want to see anything bad happen. They're too awesome.

Later guys!

A Sad Thing...

Hey guys.

I was too sad to really post anything about this until now, but two weeks ago my rat, Lily, died.

I thought she was just a small rat when I bought her and she just stopped growing, but apparently she had an infection of sorts, I honestly can't say what exactly it was. That's the problem with rats: they hide any signs of sickness until it's too late to do anything. She went to the vet and died in my arms the next morning. We buried her next to Tara, Buffy, and Willow, and we put two stones above her grave. I feel bad that I didn't spend a lot of time with her, and even worse that I didn't see the signs of her illness before.

So, my dear Lily, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry I didn't see what was wrong earlier, I'm sorry I didn't take better care of you, I'm sorry I didn't help you see your first birthday. I'm sorry.

I'll miss you every day, and I created this video in your honor:

I love you forever Lily <3

A Trip to Oregon

Sup Internet Bros? Happy late 4th of July! Sorry for not posting this on the actual 4th, but I'm a busy busy gal.

Okay, so for both America and my Uncle Brian's birthdays I went to Oregon. It wasn't all that thrilling, but it was fun to see my family (even though I don't know half of them). Up there it's legal to light off your own fireworks, so we stopped by and picked up a ton of firecrackers and such and lit 'em off. It was epic, though we started two small fires and colored the grass red and blue. It was fun all the same. The adults had beer and brandy or something and people were lighting fireworks in the street. I kept thinking "Alcohol, power lines, and explosives. What could possibly go wrong?" but it was fun anyway.

Yep, we went out shopping a bit and we picked blueberries at my cousin's job and it was fun.

Anyway, that was about it. We didn't do a whole lot, but it was well worth the 12 hour drive (it would've been 10 but Natalie has to eat or pee every 20 minutes, so...). I wrote stories, drew Homestuck fanart (which I may post later), and we laughed at Jarred the Tire Guy.

I knew you'd wonder about that. When we were leaving to head home we rode over a glass bottle and punctured our tire. We drove on it to Les Schwab Tires where an employee by the name of Jarred told us that the hole was too big to patch and rather than charging us $20 to patch it he would charge us $113 for a new tire. My mom's boyfriend, Rod, started giving him a hard time, saying that if someone in California can patch it he will personally sue Jarred and Les Schwab. Poor Jarred's pokerface held, and after that we spent a good hour or so talking about Jarred. When we got back Natty looked him up on Facebook and went through his photos and interests. I'm pretty sure she'd get arrested, but to be fair he apparently likes Nickelback so who's the real victim here? Wait, that'd make a double victimization on his part- But he'd be the victim, but somehow a double victim- screw it, I'll figure it out later. Basically if someone in California can fix it, poor Jarred's gonna get a Christmas card of a middle finger.

Anyway, the moral of the story is DON'T OVERCHARGE ROD FOR A TIRE. IT WILL MEAN THE END OF YOUR SOCIAL LIFE. Anyway, that's about it. Visit Oregon, it's pretty, stuff like that. Also I think Natalie's gonna do a post on Jarred as well, so be sure to watch out for it on her blog.

Later bros!
